Requirements
Registration of Birth of a Kenyan born Abroad
- Duly filled application form no. BDA 1 (click here to download)
- Certified copies of bio-data page of both parents’ passports, ID cards & birth certificates.
- Original and certified copies of the child’s Birth Certificate (Not a notification nor Registration). Note that any birth certificate without a name of the child will not be accepted
- Copy of Baptismal Certificate if any.
- Certified copies of parents’ marriage certificate either international or translated into English, if legally married.
- Application fee of Rs.200/- payable by bank demand draft in favour of Kenya High Commission, New Delhi.
- A self-addressed A-4 size envelope with postage stamps to enable the Mission send back the document.

Duplicate Birth Certificate
- Duly filled “search form” (click here to download)
- An application letter explaining the reason for a duplicate birth certificate;
- Two clear copies of the original birth certificate for ease of reference
- Police FIR Report (in case of a lost birth certificate);
- Application fee of Rs.500/- payable by bank demand draft in favour of Kenya High Commission, New Delhi.
- A self-addressed A-4 size envelope with postage stamps to enable the Mission send back the document.

- Duly filled “search forms” (click here to download)
- An application letter explaining the reason for a duplicate death certificate;
- Two clear copies of the original death certificate
- Police FIR Report and an affidavit from a Notary public (in case of a lost death certificate);
- Application fee of Rs.500/- payable by bank demand draft in favour of Kenya High Commission, New Delhi.
- A self-addressed A-4 size envelope with postage stamps to enable the Mission send back the document.
